Job summary
We are a team of dynamic health care professionals dedicated to providing a meaningful life experience to our haematology patients in a day care setting.
We are currently looking for a senior Health Care Assistant (HCA Band 3) who would like to join us in this endeavour. We need one who has proven dedication and genuine caring attitude towards patients.
Experience with cannulation or phlebotomy is desirable in this role, however, willingness to learn and positive attitude are more important as you will be supported by the team in acquiring new knowledge and necessary skills to become an even more efficient and successful Senior Health Care Assistant.
Main duties of the job
As a senior healthcare assistant the main duties within this role is to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing high quality direct and indirect patient care, demonstrating considerable responsibility and autonomy, providing guidance for junior staff within the team.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of excellent clinical care within the Haematology day unit in close collaboration with the registered nursing and medical team.
You will support patients who attend for assessment pre-treatment, during treatment and those who may present with treatment related problems or unwell.
