About the Role :
- Provide strong and strategic leadership for the Science department, setting the direction for a stimulating and engaging curriculum aligned with national standards.
- Lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Science program across all year groups, fostering a love of the scientific world and encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM fields.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment where all girls feel empowered to explore the fascinating world of Science, regardless of their prior experience.
- Motivate and support a team of Science teachers, providing guidance, promoting professional development, and fostering collaboration within the department.
- Oversee the budget and resources for the Science department,
ensuring they are effectively utilized to create an inspiring learning environment for girls in science.
- Play a key role in the school community, promoting the importance of Science education and fostering collaborations with other departments, highlighting the relevance of science to girls' futures.
The Ideal Candidate (Female) :
- A qualified Science teacher with a proven track record of success and extensive experience in a leadership role, particularly within a single-sex environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
- A deep understanding of Science pedagogy, current trends,
and the ability to translate them into engaging and effective learning experiences that cater to girls' learning styles.
- A passion for Science and a talent for inspiring a love of learning and scientific exploration in girls of all abilities.
- The ability to manage a team effectively, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
