Business Development Associate What is involved?
Energy transition is the investment to move from conventional to sustainable sources and practices of energy production. This encompasses what is commonly referred to as renewable energy sources, including wind and solar, but also extends to more sustainable practices derived from traditional power generation such as oil and gas, and includes some relatively new and innovative energy sources.
We are looking for a Business Development Associate to help in the roll out of a European Energy Transition practice to help win clients in this space.
Initially the focus will be on building an Energy Transition offering and client base in the UK, followed by a European roll out which will involve working with Lockton’s partner offices.
What are the typical responsibilities?
- Research into industry trends and key players to develop a prospect list focused around Energy Transition companies
- Working closely with Marketing to provide direction,
design and content to ensure we are producing the right marketing material, focused on industry growth areas
- Engaging with and getting buy-in from other lines of business across Lockton to create multi-coverage offerings within the Energy Transition space
- Identifying and attending suitable networking events to represent LGE to specifically identified target companies
- Representing LGE at events and to prospective clients to educate them on the services we are able to provide
- Focusing initially on the UK, then coordinating the roll out of strategy to Lockton partner offices across Europe
What skills and experience would we like you to have?
- Proven experience in a sales or business development role
- Experience of working in an energy related industry or a genuine interest in the energy transition
- Demonstrable tactful negotiation skills and the ability to build convincing propositions for clients
- Pro-active and able to manage a complex and varied workload
- Strong organization and communication skills
