About the Role :
- Provide strong and strategic leadership for the Geography department across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Geography curriculum, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum and departmental goals.
- Support and mentor Geography teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development.
- Play a key role in the recruitment, performance management, and observation of Geography department staff.
- Oversee the effective use of resources and facilities to enhance the Geography learning experience.
- Develop and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that inspire students and promote a love of learning.
- Track and monitor student progress, analyzing data and implementing strategies to raise attainment in Geography.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Contribute to the wider leadership team of the school,
supporting the overall vision and educational goals.
The Ideal Candidate :
- A qualified Geography Teacher with a minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience, including significant leadership experience within a secondary school setting.
- A proven track record of raising standards and improving student outcomes in Geography.
- Excellent subject knowledge, a passion for Geography, and a commitment to innovative teaching methods.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and collaborate with colleagues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students.
