Job summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career in children's therapies? We have 1WTE post available based in Eastbourne on the beautiful East Sussex coast.

Flexible working, part-time hours and job share applications will be considered.

We are looking for speech and language therapists with a passion for working with children with autism, learning disability and complex disability including the use of hi-tech AAC.

You may already have skills in these areas or you may be looking to develop your clinical skills, if it's the latter we can help you realise this and become a valued member of our integrated therapy service.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for managing a complex and specialist clinical caseload and to act as a specialist resource to theChildren's Therapies team and other professionals and agenciesTo support the work of SEND including completion of education, health and care needs assessments and occasionalinvolvement in SENDIST appeal hearings as an expert witnessTo be responsible for the supervision of identified staff within the team in collaboration with the Head of Service,Operational Manager and Team contribute to the wider work of the team including initial assessment clinics, referral triage and Therapy One provide leadership to the Team in collaboration with other clinical Lead be responsible for ensuring the team provides a high quality and cost-effective clinical service to CYP and their familiesin collaboration with the Head of Service, Operational Manager and Team be responsible for ensuring that all team members are working to agreed care report to and advise the Head of Service and / or Operational Manager of the teams' development within a specialistclinical area to ensure it is in line with the organisation's business objectives.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body (1st Level Nurse / NMC or Physiotherapist; Occupational Therapist; etc / HCPC)

Desirable

o Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses up to Master's degree equivalent relevant to specialist clinical area

o Minimum of 4 years paediatric experience o In depth and recent (in the last 2 years) experience in a specialist clinical area o Evidence of continued professional development in area of clinical specialism o Experience of providing line supervision and / or clinical supervision in area of clinical specialism o Evidence of innovative working and supporting change o Evidence of creating profession specific documentation ( care pathways / leaflets) o Experience of partnership working with internal and external stakeholders o Experience in patient engagement and audit.

o Experience of delivering training within clinical specialism to a range of audiences

o Experience of implementing service re-design within clinical area o Experience of running local Clinical excellence networks / journal groups) o Experience of organising and running accredited or registered courses o Experience of attending policy events (professional, local or national) o Experience of contributing to position papers at a national level o Experience of giving presentations and promoting the work of the service / organisation to relevant stakeholders
