Job summary

Bexley MHST seeks to appoint two enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are passionate about mental health support in schools, with a demonstrable track record of MHST clinical experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified EMHP, who by January 2025 will have two year's post qualification experience, to embark on further training and develop in a new role as a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner (SWP) within Bexley Mental Health Support Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will :







o Be expected to fulfil the requirements of and complete the 2-year Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Post Graduate Diploma at Kings College London to enable progression to a fully qualified Senior Wellbeing Practitioner.

o Work as part of the Bexley MHST team to manage a defined caseload with a focus on providing focused assessment and evidence-based intervention for children and young people (CYP) with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents / carers.

o Plan and deliver whole school activities, as part of a school's whole school / college approach to mental health and wellbeing.

o Provide advice and guided signposting to education settings.

o Be expected to provide Case Management and Clinical Supervision to qualified and / or trainee EMHPs within the service.

o Be able to work flexibly across a range of education providers.

o Promote the participation of children, young people, families, carers and the wider school community.

o Promote equity, diversity and inclusion within their own role, the MHST and school communities, contributing to enabling other staff, children, young people, families,





carers and the wider school community from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.

Qualifications

Essential







CYP-MH Post-Graduate Diploma or Certificate (EMHP)

Desirable

Evidence of CPD relevant to working with CYP in schools or community settings

Experience

Essential

- Two years post qualification experience within a MHST
- Experience of working with CYP's with mild to moderate mental health problems and their families using CBT informed guided self help.
- Experience of managing and prioritising a caseload.
- Evidence of providing culturally adapted interventions.
- Experience in design and delivery of workshops, groups and whole school approach interventions.

Desirable

- Experience of supervising junior staff or trainees
- Experience in working with children and adolescents with Special Educational Needs

Skills

Essential







- CAMHS assessment facilitation, including assessing : risk behaviour, impact of the lived experience, systemic functioning and managing difference in the clinical space.
