The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.
We are currently looking for a SEN specialist to provide 1 : 1 support to disengaged SEN pupils in Hornchurch, who are currently without a school placement.
The student has a diagnosis of ASD as well as complex physical needs and has not received any formal education in the UK.
The tutor will need to assess their current ability and reintroduce education into their routine whilst a suitable school provision is found.
Lessons will take place in the students home.
Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

- Hours : 10 hours per week

- Duration : ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications :
- QTS or equivalent
- Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
- UK classroom teaching experience
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1 : 1 Outreach Tutor must :
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
