The Department of Biomedical Science and Physiology at the University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Human Physiology

You will have previous teaching or training experience that will enable you to contribute to teaching, assessment, quality enhancement and pedagogic research within the Department.

We welcome applications from Human Physiologists with an active research or clinical background. You will be expected to teach across a range of disciplines,

and at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and be able to effectively deliver the key aspects of human physiology through lectures, seminars, and practical classes.

Good communication and organisational skills are essential attributes, and you must be committed to providing an excellent student experience.

You should have a first degree in Human physiology or related discipline, and either a Master’s degree or a PhD or equivalent, or be able to demonstrate significant professional practice experience.

Preferably, you will be a member of a relevant professional body and must be willing to contribute to research across a range of university-wide research institutes and centres.

The Department has delivered a highly successful portfolio of National School of Healthcare Science and Institute of Biomedical Science-accredited courses for many years, covering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, making a significant local impact on health outcomes,

and providing access to education.

You will therefore have an enthusiasm for removing barriers to and widening participation in education. We have a well-established academic team, and the University provides an excellent working environment to allow you to access continued career development.

We are committed to promoting and developing a culture of excellence, diversity and mutual respect that supports all our staff and students and welcome applications from all sections of society.

The University of Wolverhampton holds an Athena SWAN award in recognition of our commitment to advance gender equality in higher education.

We are members of the Race Equality Charter, and we are Living Wage accredited.

The University of Opportunity for Students and Staff

As part of our commitment to ensure the diversity of our staff body reflects those of the student and local communities we serve, we particularly welcome applications from candidates of Black, Asian, or Ethnic Minority heritage, and candidates who are Disabled (including people who may not define themselves as disabled, but nevertheless encounter challenges)
