Our client is a well-established food business in the Co Down area who are going through a period of expansion and now have a new position for an Assistant Production Manager who is seeking a challenging and varied role to join them.
Working closely with the Production Manager you will assist in ensuring production deadlines are met by planning, scheduling, executing, and directing production activities.
Responsibilities :
- Identify opportunities to optimise and improve production efficiencies
- Setting up daily production schedules in line with labour cost targets.
- Providing regular production information and performance reports to the Production Manager.
- Manage Team leaders in production area including setting up goals and targets.
- Monitoring training of new and existing staff
- Drive performance with a focus on yield, quality and costs
- Implement and monitor hygiene best practice throughout the site
- Report any maintenance related issues in a timely manner.
Criteria :
- Previous experience in food production environment
- Flexibility to work some weekends as required
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of food safety legislation, quality processes and HACCP highly advantageous
- Be highly self-motivated with the ability to create a teamwork culture
