We are delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a talented Head of Spanish to join a prestigious girls school in Westminster.
This full-time position will commence in September, and we are seeking an experienced and passionate individual who is dedicated to promoting excellence in Spanish education.
As the Head of Spanish, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Spanish department, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for both students and staff.
Your expertise and exceptional leadership skills will inspire and motivate students to develop their Spanish language skills and cultural awareness.
Collaborating closely with a team of dedicated educators, you will have the autonomy to design and implement a comprehensive and engaging Spanish curriculum, ensuring that students have the necessary language proficiency and understanding to excel in their studies.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Spanish department
- Oversee the quality of teaching and learning in Spanish
- Mentor and support Spanish teachers, facilitating their professional development
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance students' linguistic and cultural competence
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to Spanish language and culture
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and initiatives
- Stay updated with the latest developments in Spanish education and implement best practices
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievements,
providing guidance when needed
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialization in Spanish or a related field
- Postgraduate degree in Spanish or Education (desirable)
- Significant experience teaching Spanish, preferably in a secondary school setting
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Passionate about promoting Spanish language acquisition and cultural awareness
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to professional growth in Spanish education
