Senior or Principal Engineer - Flood Risk / Drainage
Location : Ideally commutable to Birmingham, Bristol or Reading but open to other locations with some travel as needed.
- Salary : £50,000 - £65,000 negotiable dependant on level of experience plus package including;
- Generous annual leave policy starting at 25 days holidays

Summary
My client, a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy which specialises in Drainage, Civil and Flood Risk Engineering is looking to hire Senior and Principal level engineers to join their flood risk and drainage team.
The successful candidate will be required to managing and contributing to a range of studies, including flood risk assessments, flood management strategies Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) design, and numerical flood modelling.
Working with varied residential, commercial, industrial, utility and sewerage projects for Local Authorities, House Builders, Contractors and Private Sector Clients.
To be considered you will have
- BSc and / or MSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology and experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Drainage Strategies and Drainage Design using Microdrainage.
- You will either have or be approaching CEng (MICE, or CIWEM) status
Looking for candidates with some of these skills or an understanding of.
- Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments in Flood Zone 1, 2 and 3;
- Undertake conceptual and detail design of flood alleviation works;
- Surface water management plans.
- Surface water and foul drainage strategies.
- Flood Mitigation Schemes.
- Knowledge of WinDes software Package;
- Preparation of water chapters for Environmental Statements;
- Good written and spoken communication skills and be able to work as part of a team
- SuDS Design using Microdrainage
- Detailed design of surface water and foul water drainage systems using Causeway
