Senior / Lead Python Engineer

Our client, an AI-driven SAAS company in the fintech space, is seeking a Lead Python Engineer with strong Python and Django development expertise to join their growing team. The ideal person can engineer robust and scalable solutions based on DDD, BDD and TDD in a startup Vcap environment where you will wear multiple hats and bring your skills to the coal face to build AI/ML based applications. Further to building out the application and refining what is already in play,
the plan is to migrate to AWS so your back end engineering of pipelines and microservices architecture in this space would be paramount.
We are looking for a Lead Python Engineer with:
- Min 8 years hands on experience in software development using Python, Django and ORM
- Proven experience in a startup: At least 2 years of experience leading a B2B tech startup as a technical manager, from early stages to product-market fit.
- Experience in TDD, BDD, DDD, OOP, Object-orientated design and design patterns
- Strong technical skills: Tech: Python, Django, AI, Vue.js, API, Microservices, AWS, UAT, OOD, CI/CD, Octopus Deploy, JEST
- Agile methodology: Familiarity with agile development methodologies and a comfort level with decision-making and working under uncertainty.
- Project management: Experience owning project management, including resource allocation and understanding the commercial impact of engineering decisions.
- Excellent communication skills both to tech and non tech stakeholders
- Used to working in an agency environment,
familiar with working to budgets, schedules, completing timesheets, participating in stand ups and providing progress updates.
- Passion for AI and ML is highly beneficial
