Job Advert: Junior Infrastructure Engineer – Global Hedge Fund (London)
Our client, a leading global hedge fund, is seeking a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join their London office. The firm employs a data-centric approach, leveraging advanced quantitative models and technology to develop and execute trading strategies across multiple asset classes. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment where you will help design, build, and maintain compute and storage services that are continuously scaling.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a distributed compute environment and several petabyte-scale storage systems.
- Install, manage, and monitor the Linux operating system (RHEL-based).
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the stack.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting through configuration and improvement.
- Develop and maintain tools for automation.
- Script to automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Up to 5 years of experience in a technology infrastructure role, including Linux administration.
- Proficient in Python, Ruby, or Bash scripting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or related field.
- Salary starting from £50,000 +
