Security Engineer- London – up to 70K + Bonus

My client requires an enthusiastic Security Engineer to join their rapidly growing cyber team! The ideal candidate will come from an IT/ Support/ Helpdesk background that has pivoted into a Cyber Security Engineer/Analytical role with over 4 years Cyber security experience. Experience in using and implementing SIEM tools is essential!







As a Security Engineer you will have the opportunity to:

- Threat Monitoring and Response: Utilize a variety of SIEM solutions, primarily Rapid7, to continuously monitor, detect, and respond to potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Monitoring of the SIEM tool, Deep analysis and Threat detection.
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Incident Response Management: Develop and implement effective incident response protocols to address security breaches and mitigate risks.
- Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and work collaboratively to remediate identified weaknesses in our systems.
- Cross collaboration with the IT and Development teams.
- Strategic Contribution: Influence strategic decisions across the organization to enhance our service offerings within the Security Operations Center (SOC).

The Right Security Engineer will ideally have:

- Proven experience in implementing and managing SIEM solutions
- Rapid 7, Tenable, Mimecast, Azure, DarkTrace, Sophus, Purview etc






- Experience of working in Desktop support/service desk
- Strong understanding of security protocols, threat management, and vulnerability assessment tool
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management practices, and incident response procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders and team members.
- Understanding of Microsoft Purview and its role in data governance and compliance (useful but not essential).
