Marriott Harrison is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance Analyst to join the firm’s compliance team to help build and deliver our risk processes. This role would suit an experienced compliance analyst who is able to undertake structured compliance processes operating to SRA requirements.

Title: Compliance Analyst
Reports To: Compliance Manager
What you will do
- Analysing incoming clients and matters in line with AML and Financial Crime Prevention Regulation.
- Conducting due diligence and reviewing incoming mandates for potential risks and mitigating them through appropriate levels of legal analysis and accurate value judgments.
- Assisting fee earners to formulate risk assessments and where appropriate escalate high risk matters and provide recommendations. This may involve collaborating with other specialists within the firm.
- Aiding with preparation and submission of any internal and external reporting such as regulatory filings, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and collaborating with other teams to obtain the required information.
- Deliver coaching and training to other firm members on regulatory compliance, policies and procedures as well as findings identified as part of quality assurance (including handling of onboarding cases, screening and transaction monitoring alerts).
- Helping to shape clear compliance processes across the firm to create a safe and efficient framework understood by front-line users and lawyers.
- Supporting lawyers and secretaries who undertake compliance activities, promoting and shaping standardised and risk-managed processes that operate robustly and safely.
- Acting as subject matter expert for KYC, KYB, AML; undertaking and assisting others with compliance activities to deliver client intake, monitoring and review processes.
What you will have
- You have 2-4 years’ experience in a compliance role in a law firm.
- You are up to date on SRA regulations and can anticipate a law firm’s compliance challenges.
- You have good judgement and insight and are looking for an opportunity to build on your existing knowledge.
- You are confident in compliance issues and can act decisively in the role of trusted advisor to navigate colleagues through complex scenarios. You work well with people and can balance your approach using influence and advice.
- You are a problem solver, resilient and self-driven. You enjoy working in a professional, personal, and friendly environment.
- You are pragmatic and practical, able to challenge, collaborate, and get things done.
