About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work for our client within the Technology sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend. This role is remote but the successful candidate would need to visit the office in London twice per month and must be eligible for SC Clearance.
Our client is a leading global IT services provider, dedicated to helping clients leverage technology to drive innovation and achieve their business goals. They are currently seeking a talented SDET to join their team, to support their Government Department clients responsible for public safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain GIT repositories
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines
- Deliver independent testing for major applications
- Manage most problems independently and solve complex problems
- Apply analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies
- Test case design & development, automated test case execution, test automation development, reviews of requirements, and other project artifacts using Java and OOP concepts
- Develop and execute web automation tests using Selenium
- Implement BDD frameworks using Cucumber
- Act as a quality gate before software products are delivered to our clients
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance testing strategies
- Exhibit good understanding of concepts and principles in own technical area and basic knowledge of these elements in other areas
- Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
About You
Requirements
- Proficient in testing and automating APIs, middleware, and UI using Java, Python, JavaScript, and NodeJS technologies
- Experience in designing automation frameworks for Microservices, REST, and SOAP services using Java libraries such as Rest Assured, SAAJ, Jersey client, JAXB, Java reflection, Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle, Cucumber JVM (BDD framework), Junit, TestNG, and tools like SOAP UI
- Skilled in designing and maintaining automation frameworks for web applications using Java libraries (e.g., Selenium Webdriver, Selenium Grid) and JavaScript node modules (e.g., Cypress, Webdriver IO) with execution frameworks like Mocha and assertion libraries like Chai
- Experience in designing performance tests using JMeter
- Proficient in using AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS, IAM, EKS, etc.)
- Experience in integrating automation test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience working in Agile projects, participating in all ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint demos
- Experience working in onsite-offshore models, green-field projects, and setting up test infrastructure from scratch
