Purpose of Role :
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced qualified accountant to join the business in the role of Group Accountant on an interim basis.
The role, reporting to the Group Finance Manager, will primarily be focused on statutory reporting responsibilities. The Weir Group is one of Scotland’s few remaining listed companies and as such exposes the successful individual to the unique environment of a plc business.
The position incorporates a blend of statutory accounting, management reporting and analysis requiring interaction with the other Head Office teams, operational and divisional finance teams,
the Group Financial Controller and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities :
- External and internal reporting together with related analytical review.
- Key involvement in the statutory accounts process at year end including analysis and evaluation of financial information;
- Reporting of key financial information and preparation of material for reporting to the City at year end.
- Preparation, analytical review and challenge of relevant sections of forecast and monthly management information.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications :
- Qualified Accountant (CA / ACA / CIMA) with relevant post qualification experience with at least 2 years PQE.
- Understanding of IFRS and UK accounting standards, with knowledge of recent developments
- Understanding of statutory disclosures, plc reporting and other compliance requirements
- Experience of consolidation systems, management and statutory reporting
