Job description

Net SME - Must be SC Cleared to start and DV Clearable (Nationality Requirement : British Citizen)

Location : two days in the office, three remote, the office being at Porton Down, near to Salisbury.

Via Umbrella

5 Months initially

- Net SME
- Establishing (using existing documentation and interviews of staff) and writing new documentation for the existing architecture of the .Net estate
- Establish (using existing documentation and interviews of staff) the interface map related to the .Net Estate, criticality and support model for the apps.
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff), the database architecture liaising and working with the DBA SME.






- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff), the current and to be backup approach and data retention approaches (and whether aligned to data retention policies) - working with the DBA SME
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff), backup and restore test approach
- Contribute to development of the KT plan through review of foundation knowledge sessions suggested by the incumbent.
- Attend KT sessions and document knowledge provided by the incumbent team through foundation KT.
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff), current monitoring and how this feed into an Event and Incident Management flow
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff), the Service Continuity Plan for .Net estate
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff) how access is managed
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff)





existing environments (including lower environments) and how data is managed and alignment to data anonymisation policies
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff) where software and configurations are stored and how items are migrated through environments to Live (not the Change process rather the tooling and environment flows)
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff) whether any of the .Net estate would be classed as "evergreen"
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff) the stakeholders and knowledge centres (people), the Tier of the Applications and existing hours of Support
- Establish and document (using existing documentation and interviews of staff)





an operations manual for the .Net Estate
- Establish a skills matrix required for staff to support the existing .Net estate.
- Store all relevant documentation (defined by you - or existing) in a central organised repository (this may exist today, if not this will need to be established)
- Complete the Application Database - detailing all modules and other details using the template within the data room
- Identify any risks and add to the Risk Register for the .Net - highlighting any risks (technical, people or tools)
- Establish a Continuous Improvement Plan based on the above
- Develop and add relevant information for a Technical Roadmap for the .Net (including core, interfaces, patches and databases)






- Review existing and available ADM / automation tooling as part of the technical roadmap identifying actions which can drive improved monitoring / productivity
- Review the ITSM tooling (and other repositories) to establish the Configuration Database situation (are CIs in place and relatable)?

Establish what action is needed.

- Review the existing capacity management processes and establish (as part of the Continuous Improvement Plan - improvements in measurement and automation)
- Establish and document licensing position and how these are managed
- Work with the Transition Manager, existing team and SMEs to meet the foundation requirements (as above) and as identified through the Transition
