Job description
A temporary or perm (or temp to perm) housekeeper / allrounder is required for a large fully staffed household near Marlborough.
This is either a temp, or perm opportunity and temp could be from ASAP for however long someone is available.
Duties will include, but not limited to :
Working under the management of the Head House Manager, taking charge on their days off, and being responsible to use initiative when they are not there
Ordering stock, tidying and organising rooms
Arranging last minute tasks or handling emergency situations - eg. if a shower is broken, sourcing a contractor to get it fixed, if an event is arranged last minute to assist with set up and clear down etc
Being a friendly face to have around and happy to turn their hand to anything
Must be happy to assist with cleaning (There are daily cleaners) but this person will also be expected to clean, and oversee the cleaners, doing washing and ironing etc as well
Taking care of fine artwork, and delicate antiques (training can be given but the ability to learn is essential)
Must be happy to work weekends, with days off given in the week (some weekends will be off but it will be on a rota)
Hours tend to be day time (8am-6pm) but the candidate should be flexible to work later if required
Candidate must be able to work well in a team with a mixture of staff who are new, and who have also been there for several years and should have the ability to handle different characters
Discreet and professional attitude required at all times
Candidate must enjoy service and working front of house
There is a chef, and the candidate must be happy to work well with them (with laying and clearing tables etc)
Just a general all rounder with a good,
hardworking and friendly character essential.
Accommodation can be provided on site.
The candidate should be a driver with their own car due to the rural location.
Full time salary is circa £35-40,000 with accommodation provided. Temp salary will be based on a day rate, and will be discussed depending on expectations and experience.
