An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardio-Respiratory Department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for a Band 7 Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography). The role will predominantly be specialised in echocardiography and candidates should possess BSE accreditation. Candidates wishing to maintain their skills in other cardiac physiology services is encouraged.
The successful candidate will be expected to work between the main department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and within the local Community Diagnostic Centres.
• To provide education and training for Physiologists and other healthcare professionals within echocardiography






• To have designated responsibilities within the echo department to support the echo team
• To participate in CPD activities to maintain own competencies and understand changes in national guidance/training requirements
• To review and authorise reports from non BSE accredited Physiologists giving appropriate feedback
• To be a senior member of the Cardio-Respiratory team as a whole by working together, ensuring the delivery of high quality services to our patients
• Work closely with the clinical service manager to deliver on local and national objectives
Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It is home to the Crooked Spire and is also close to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham, thus offering numerous choices for recreational activities and lifestyles.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 500 beds.





We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 400,000 people.
