The role
We seek a Technical Surveyor to join our busy and collaborative Rating Department. The role focuses on supporting the London rating team to service clients with large, complex portfolios by providing an accurate, effective and timely rating appeal service.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in Rating or another area within the property industry but looking for a change. You'll work closely with colleagues in our London Rating team and the wider department (and other business lines) throughout the UK to deliver our business plan(s) and to support the company's ambition for growth.
A key focus is to build on our excellent reputation and increase our market share in strategically identified and specialist sectors.
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable individual with strong communication, people and team working skills. Organisation and prioritisation skills are also important.
Key deliverables
• Assist and support London rating team to develop, grow and deliver results in line with client strategies
• Carry out property inspections, surveys and research
• Prepare/conduct analysis and case preparation to minimise client liabilities
• Develop relationships within UK rating teams and other service lines
• Play an active part in the promotion and development of the Rating business line within the wider BNP Paribas group
• Apprentices/Graduates will work towards passing the APC and becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
• Apprentices/Graduates will liaise with peers regarding APC training and any materials that are required to enhance knowledge base.
• Graduates will ensure APC course work, etc. is submitted on time to the RICS
• Engage with other business lines to capitalise on cross-selling opportunities
• Work with colleagues in developing and achieving department and client strategies
• Obtain information from clients/stakeholders and respond to queries
• Prioritise incoming workload, and manage deadlines and key dates
Clients and Business Development
• Collaborate and actively contribute to development and growth of department strategy
• Assist and support the London rating teams to actively sell our Rating capability to clients
• Assist and support the London rating team in Identifying cross selling opportunities
• Actively contribute to the delivery of an efficient, high-quality service
• Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

Person Specification
Desirable qualifications/experience:
• A level, ideally Maths and English, or educated to degree level in a relevant field
• Part time/full time work in a real estate firm
• Full, clean divers license and access to vehicle for inspections
Essential skills/experience:
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
