Full job description

Overview:

London Borough of Harrow has a great opportunity for a School Admissions Support Officer to join its School Organisation Admissions & Attendance team.

The post holder will work in collaboration with other team members to provide a fully integrated service to parents and schools that meets statutory requirements and the School Admissions Code and School Admissions Appeals Code.

You will be responsible for supporting the School Admissions Manager and Admissions Officers in all aspects of the school admissions process.





This includes ensuring all applications are recorded and data on the admission system is ready for other team members to match with available places and provide a fully integrated service to parents and schools.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

- Awareness of School Admissions and School Admissions Appeals Code.
- Awareness of government policies and priorities in relation to school admissions.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act and implications.
- Evidence of good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to respond calmly to angry/irate clients both face to face and on the telephone.
- Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods and prioritise workload.
- Ability to input data accurately onto a database and spreadsheet and use word processing packages.
- English and Maths A-C GCSE or equivalent.
