DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Driver's Mate to play a vital role in our distribution service at Tradeteam, Exeter.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
- work alongside our warehouse team,
coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol / white goods / furniture onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
- accompany a driver to delivery points where you will assist with unloading deliveries to licensed premises / to customers' homes
- maintain regular contact with the Transport team and advise of all problems which may prevent the job being completed on time and without incident
- complete relevant processes on an electronic handheld device
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

- High levels of manual handling are required so you need to be physically fit (50-120kgs being lifted multiple times a day)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
- Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions
- Ability to count accurately and to perform simple maths calculations
- Previous practical experience as a Driver's Mate, within a logistics or similar environment would be preferable
