About the Company:
This position offers a unique chance to be at the heart of the sports and media legal landscape, working with a company renowned for its expertise in the broadcast production of live games. Our client delivers comprehensive solutions for global broadcasters, including host production and global delivery for prestigious sports events.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate media rights agreements, technical and service contracts, and various business-related agreements including NDAs and licensing agreements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist in managing regulatory obligations, including GDPR, IR35, and corporate governance,
ensuring the live broadcast of games maintain robust yet efficient practices.
- Commercial Tenders: Support commercial tender processes by drafting RFPs and managing rights sales or supplier services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Advise a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, and collaborate with all areas of the business.
- Professional Development: Ensure the legal team meets its annual training and professional development objectives.
Required Skills:
- Experience: 1 – 3 years PQE. Previous in-house experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Education & Training: Candidates must have excellent academics (2.1 minimum) from a highly regarded law school. Applicants must have trained with a leading UK Law Firm, ideally with a top tier Sports Law Team.
- Attributes: Confident, self-starter, and willing to undertake a range of tasks.
- Skills: Excellent drafting and negotiating skills, highly commercially aware, and able to articulate complex legal matters to various stakeholders.
- Personality: Personable, easy-going,
yet hard-working and driven to progress within the company.
- Specialised Knowledge: Experience in the exploitation of sports media rights is preferable but not essential.
