We are working with a privately owned developer that is exceptionally well funded and have access to a large pool of capital. Because of this they have been acquiring new development opportunities and have a large portfolio of projects coming through the pipeline. They have a development pipeline across multiple projects in London and south-east and because of this are looking to appoint a development manager to oversee current and future schemes and to head up the project delivery team across the portfolio of schemes.
You would have 5-6 live schemes at any one time and are a mixture of new builds and refurbs. You will have previous experience with residential-led development or traditional housing sites in surrey,
Kent or south west London and have a demonstrable track record of the successful construction delivery of multiple projects at once. You will be degree educated and have professional qualifications (mrics or riba) and be used to managing complex internal and external construction development delivery teams.
The main focus of the role will be review and appointing main contractors for projects and overseeing the successful delivery of the contract and project. You will be an experienced project manager who is used to taking responsibility for the successful delivery of construction sites. The business is rapidly growing and extremely entrepreneurial, so you thrive in fast-paced environments and be comfortable making executive decisions.
You will form part of the senior management team and report directly to the ceo. You will be an experienced development project manager or project delivery manager from either a residential developer or consultancy background.
ResponsibilitiesOverseeing residential construction projects post-acquisition through to pre-commencement and into delivery
Managing detailed design and engineering of projects utilizing internal and external consultants
Reporting to the management committee on a monthly basis Working closely with the construction team to select and procure contractors and manage the contract through the full project lifecycle.Overseeing a team of construction staff.key requirements
Degree qualified with professional qualifications (mrics, riba)Experienced development project manager who has worked for a developer contractor demonstrable experience in developing and delivering complex business strategiesunderstanding and background in advising investment committees on construction and project delivery aspects of potential purchasesdetailed background in procuring and assembling supply chains including main contractors and advisory consultancies.experience in residential led projects of house building in surrey, southwest Londonprevious experience of building and develop high performing teamsprevious background of developing new processes and procedures in construction teams.
