We are recruiting to two Contract Officer posts which are based in the Contracts Team that manages clinical service contracts. While the competencies for all four roles are the same, the posts are divided between the parts of the team that deal with Mental Health Contracts, or Community Service Contracts, or Acute Contracts.

The main role of the Contract Officer is to be the lead for a small portfolio of NHS, private and third-sector service provider contracts. The value of the contracts will be commensurate with the seniority of the role.

The Contracts Officer is the first point of contact between the ICB and providers and acts as the effective liaison between the providers and the commissioners of the service.

The Contract Officer is an externally facing role and the post holder will be expected to interact with different providers on a daily basis.

The role of this Contract Officer role is also to provide administrative support to other members of the team who manage high-risk or high-value provider contracts, or who have responsibility for cross-portfolio work areas.

The contracts in the portfolio of the Contract Officer can expire at different times of the year, and provider performance or payment issues can arise unexpectedly, and the Contract Officer needs to be able to respond quickly to changing priorities and manage their own workload.

- Support teams to deliver effective contractual management within the Finance and Performance Directorate to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
- Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring,

implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high-quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management.
- Ensure accurate and open communication and coordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialities, functions and projects.
- Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
- The job description and person specification is an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.
