Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English language and literature, catering to the diverse learning needs of students
- Plan and develop coherent schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support as necessary
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting active student participation and involvement
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a supportive and collaborative approach to education
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required
Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent in the relevant subject area
- A degree in English or a related field
- Proven experience teaching English language and literature to primary or secondary students
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Dedication to professional growth and ongoing learning in the field of education
