Job summary
We have an exciting new opportunity for an Estates Maintenance Worker to join our Estates & Facilities Team at LMP.
The successful candidate will provide a basic repair and maintenance service and will carry out necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and continuous operation of all Lancaster Medical Practice sites.
Therefore, travel between sites will be required.
Hours : 15 hours per week
Interviews : To be held on Friday 4th October
Main duties of the job
- Undertake routine maintenance work and minor repair work across the Lancaster Medical Practice estate, as directed.
- Work with and assist contractors to LMP in preventative and remedial work as required.
- Provide a first line response service to remedial work requires across the LMP Estate.
- Undertake water testing responsibilities, as directed, including water temperature checks, outlet flushing and shower maintenance.
- Undertake routine fire safety checks, as directed, including emergency lighting checks, fire extinguishers and weekly fire alarm call point testing.
- Investigate failures as directed and identify the repair required.
- Maintain records of work carried out in line with policies and procedures using FaultFixers software.
- Carry out site inspections and report any defects noted.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Previous experience that demonstrates good attention to detail.
- Previous experience of undertaking practical maintenance duties in a similar role.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a confidential environment.
- Previous experience of working in General Practice, NHS or Healthcare setting.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Good understanding of the maintenance of buildings, fittings and fixtures.
- Good knowledge of all health and safety issues relating to the maintenance and upkeep of property.
- Experience of working with a range of portable tools, small plant, ladders and equipment.
- Good general computer skills.
- Capable of working at heights.
- Able to carry out repairs and tasks which may require physical strength and stamina, standing, kneeling or crouching.
Qualifications
Essential
English GCSE (or equivalent) Level C or equivalent experience.
Desirable
- City and Guilds relevant certification.
