Job summary
You will be working alongside the diabetes specialist midwives caring for pregnant women with diabetes. You will be part of the diabetes multidisciplinary team.
We care for patients with Type1,Type 2 and gestational diabetes. We are a busy team and provide continuity to patients caring for them throughout the pregnancy journey.
Main duties of the job
This role will involve supporting the midwives with clinics, Patient education, phlebotomy, observations, documentation, chasing results, and some administration, booking clinic appointments and documenting on the badger net system.

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE Maths Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
- GCSE English Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Health care or equivalent experience
- Commit to undertake in-house training
- Care certificate
Desirable
Foundation Degree Maternity Pathway
Experience
Essential
- One year formal maternity care experience in a hospital / birth centre at band 2 or above
- Experience of using hospital patient record system
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues
Desirable
Previous diabetes work experience

- Adaptable and flexible approach to work
- Positive attitude to training and development
- Ability to work 24-hour shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays

- Able to travel across sites if required in times of diabetes in maternity escalation
