Head of Religious Education (RE) Large Academy Chain (Croydon)
We are seeking a passionate and experienced RE Teacher to lead the department in a thriving secondary school within a large Academy Chain in Croydon, South London.
This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

About the Role
As Head of RE, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the department's vision and direction. Your responsibilities will include :
- Leading the RE department, providing strong leadership and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Developing and implementing a stimulating and engaging RE curriculum across all key stages (KS3 - KS5).
- Delivering high-quality RE lessons that inspire students and ignite their curiosity about different religions and philosophies.
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of students in RE, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies.
- Contributing to the school's wider enrichment program, potentially including leading RE clubs or trips.
- Keeping abreast of current developments in RE education and implementing best practices within the department.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in RE or a relevant subject with demonstrable experience teaching RE.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience teaching RE at a secondary school level.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team of teachers.
- A strong track record of raising standards in RE and achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A passion for RE and a commitment to providing students with a well-rounded understanding of different faiths and beliefs.
