What is the opportunity?
The Senior Director role, operating as part of the 2nd line of defence function, has a global mandate to lead a team of 4 FTE to provide oversight and challenge on Cyber & Technology Risks, and acts as Regional Head of UK, Europe and APAC for all lines of business.
Responsibilities include; providing oversight across RBC’s broad set of Enterprise Cyber & Technology Risk controls and processes, providing an opinion on RBC’s risk posture, developing Key Risk Indicators to measure and monitor relevant risk and contribute to the development of enterprise policies and standards governing Cyber & Technology Risk.
What will you do?
- Direct the team to provide challenge and oversight over business relating to risk and control through several core capabilities :
- Leverage data driven insight and provide opinions and challenge on key risk indicators
- Review risk process outputs (i.e. Application Control Assessments), self-identified risk issues and acceptance to ensure the business is operating within Risk Appetite
- Review and challenge Control Assurance outcomes as performed by 1st line
- Provide expert advisory on RBC’s risk framework, policies, standards and guidelines to a complex level and contribute to their development where appropriate.
- Recommend new changes to risk policies / standards / guidelines to maintain currency in ensuring relevance to emerging technologies and delivery models
- Support relevant regulatory examinations in the business platform and region.
- Direct the team to provide challenge and oversight over major technology related initiatives in relation to the bank’s Risk Appetite
- Develop and maintain key business relationships in order to provide expertise and oversight on new initiatives
- Engage with major transformation changes proving strong risk advisory and oversight practices.
- Lead the development of quarterly risk profiles across all Cyber & IT Risk Categories and Scenarios to provide a strong fact based opinion on the risk profile for the business.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Deep Cyber and Technology Risk experience across the three lines of defence
- Experience in delivering presentations to audiences at C-suite / board level
- Ability to develop and lead a high performing global team supporting global lines of business and regions
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at different levels within an organization
- Experience in responding to Regulators and / or Internal and External Auditors on matters relating to Cyber & Technology risk obligations
Nice-to-have
- Experience in working within large financial services company
- Knowledge of Project Management (PMF) process / disciplines
- CRISC or other Information Security Certifications
