Based within our Weston General Hospital Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care Department, you will provide a welcoming experience and support to our patients and visitors, many of whom can find the experience of entering the hospital environment frightening.
- Providing a friendly welcome to patients and visitors entering the Emergency Department waiting rooms.
- Updating patients with waiting times.
- Signposting to other support and services, as required.
- Restocking of resources i.e. cups / leaflets / activity packs and preparing information packs, where applicable.
- Keeping patients company if they are on their own, engaging in conversation and utilising resources where available.
- Providing light refreshments (where agreed with Trust Division).
