Description
Our incredibly exciting startup client in London is seeking a 'rock star' developer someone who has top notch communication skills and who can articulate technical information, clearly and in detail .
This is a a great opportunity as you will be the 1st permanent development hire, and therefore able to actively contribute to the development of their desktop app and to help grow a permanent team.
This provides excellent career progression opportunities whilst working in an exciting, dynamic environment in the InsurTech sector.
You will be working for an InsurTech startup currently in stealth mode.
You will need to be a strong Full-Stack Engineer with both front end ( React ) and back end ( Node.js and Python ). You must be strong in all 3 areas.
You must have experience of working on desktop applications and have excellent communication skills at all levels.
This is a hybrid role requiring 1-2 days a week in their central London office, so you must be able to easily commute.
They are currently using contractors, and as this will be their 1st permanent development hire, they are looking for someone with strong all-round experience both on the technical and communication side, and who can clearly show that they are happy working standalone and have experience of helping to build development teams.
Your CV must detail projects you personally have worked on and had responsibility for (rather than purely working in a team).
The Role :
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain a scalable platform that leverages AI and data ingestion to deliver disruptive solutions to the insurance industry.
Working closely with the founding team, you will be responsible for both frontend and backend development, shaping the architecture of a transformative product.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain middleware services to integrate frontend with backend API’s using React, Python, and / or Node.js.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative product features.
- Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications across multiple platforms.
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs, backend services, and middleware.
- Contribute to DevOps processes,
implementing CI / CD pipelines for seamless integration and delivery.
- Work on data-driven features, leveraging AI and automation to continuously improve system.
- Participate in code reviews, providing feedback to ensure high standards and best practices.
Requirements :
- Degree in IT or related subject
- Proven experience as Full Stack Engineer in start-up / agile environment
- Solid React , and backend technologies including Python and Node.js , along with CI / CD tools
- Knowledge of data platforms and AI-driven solutions
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality solutions in collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Self-driven , passionate about Tech with a desire to continually learn whilst building scalable,
robust applications and optimizing performance
- Experience working across variety of environments and teams
