Job description
Protocol Education are seeking excellent Secondary Teachers to join a new school opening in Chelmsford, in January 2025!
This is for a specialist provision offering a nurturing, inclusive environment for 65 pupils with SEMH and associated needs with residential provision for fifteen pupils.
The school has high expectations for each child to leave as a confident young adult who is well prepared for the future.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning. This includes planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and providing pastoral support to students with SEMH needs.
The teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Job Duties :
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Provide support and guidance to students to help them achieve academic and personal development goals
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the individual needs of students
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure holistic support for students
Required Qualifications :
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Specialist subject qualification
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching in a secondary school setting
Knowledge and Skills :
- Understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- Strong classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or related field
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs
Working Conditions :
This role involves working in a secondary school environment, interacting with students, colleagues, and parents. The work is primarily classroom-based with additional responsibilities such as lesson planning, assessment, and collaboration with other staff members.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
