Product Manager / Marketing Executive

Background and Role
IMCD UK is based in Sutton, Surrey, and employs over 230 people. Representing major producers, IMCD
salespeople are market focused technical experts who offer solutions for customers’ problems utilising its
comprehensive and complementary product portfolio. Through its people, their expertise, and the creation
of open and lasting partnerships, IMCD can analyse market trends and provide advice on formulation,
production process and application, thus generating unrivalled growth for our principal partners.
The purpose of the role is to support the sales team on their accounts, and to help manage and develop
Principal Suppliers commercially within the UK and Ireland Beauty & Personal Care (BPC) and Home
Care, Industrial and Institutional cleaning (HC I&I;) sectors. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the
role holder will also work closely with Account Managers, other Product Managers, the Customer Support
Team, Technical Managers and Development Managers within the IMCD BPC & HC I&I; Network. Ideally
office-based, with occasional travel to visit customers and to attend Team and Industry events as
required.
Your responsibilities at IMCD :
- Processing Principal sales leads on behalf of the Sales team
- Managing the digital lead queue for the Business Unit (BU)
- Producing regular reporting for and conducting reviews on business KPIs via relevant channels with
Account Managers (AMs) / Product Managers (PMs) to ensure business targets are adhered to
Supporting AMs with creating Business Opportunities (BO), quotes and samples, training colleagues
within the Sales / Supply Service Representative team (SSR)
to take on these responsibilities in the
longer-term.
Tagging products on the Sales and Buying Enablement Tool (SBET), ensuring these are regularly
maintained and updated.
- Creating and maintaining Customer price lists.
- Liaising with the HSEQ Department to ensure correct / accurate sample stock
- Creating new product codes / local item set-up, liaising with International Product Managers (IPM)
where necessary.
Assisting with sales / marketing campaign preparation and management, liaising with PMs & AMs to
brief them on the campaign, and following up throughout to ensure the targets are reached and
deadlines met.
- Supporting event organisation and follow-up, . lab days, seminars, exhibitions, etc.
- Supporting the implementation of projects (. Salesforce initiatives,
- Providing holiday cover for AMs, other PM / MEs, and Purchasing SSRs
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required
Ideal Candidate :
A commercial background is preferred, ideally gained through experience within the relevant industry
sectors
A dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective
interactions with commercial and technical contacts from a range of companies and internal
stakeholders
Driven by the need to help achieve sales growth and have a persistent approach when faced with
difficulties and challenges
Numerate and analytical, with the ability to utilise data to deliver sales targets and meet the Company’s
goals
Good organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills. Able to work under pressure to meet
deadlines and to prioritise accordingly
- A team player, working collaboratively with both the team and other internal stakeholders to
- enable IMCDs success
- Be self-motivated, disciplined
- Dynamic presentation skills and able to execute in one-to-one situations as well as large groups
- IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint, and experience of working with CRM systems
