The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Eastern Services, is currently inviting applicants to join our team of Junior Doctors in the Emergency Department at Exeter for February 4.

About the Role

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Eastern Services, is currently inviting applicants who have a minimum of 6 months NHS experience to join our team of Junior Doctors in the Emergency Department at Exeter for August 4.

We are building our Junior Doctor team with a focus on developing sustainable working practices. Our base full shift rota has recently been redesigned and comprises an attractive hours a week including SPA / Educational Development time.







Our team comprises clinicians with subspecialty interest in Paediatrics, PHEM, Research, CESR, Environmental Sustainability, Extreme Medicine, Sports Medicine and much more.

The Emergency Department is a modern progressive department and Trauma Unit supported by a dedicated team of Consultant Emergency Physicians providing shop floor leadership from 0 0 hours, days a year.

Our Medical staffing model enjoys round the clock middle grade cover, person junior doctor rota, with 3 SHOs overnight and is supported by a team of Emergency Nurse Practitioners.

We are currently in the final phases of a rebuild providing a new Resuscitation Area, upgraded Majors and Minors space and a separate area for Children.

This recent investment both in terms of process and resource to ensure the efficient flow of patients through the Emergency Department aims to provide a productive and rewarding environment in which to work.







There is an excellent Departmental Educational Programme for Junior and Middle Grade Doctors and any successful candidate would be encouraged to undertake Quality Improvement activities.

Job Planned time is provided for this, both in terms of supporting professional activities and time for clinical administration.

We have an Academic Department of Emergency Medicine involved in a number of local and national research projects offering our team experience in recruiting to trials and working in a research environment.
