The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team is responsible for identifying non-investment risks globally and contributing to ongoing operational improvements. This team collaborates with professionals worldwide to assess and enhance the risk and control environment. This role will act as a Regional Lead reporting to the Global Head of Operational Risk in the US.
The role involves working across various business units, operational functions, and investment teams to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks. Ideal candidates will be comfortable challenging senior leadership while maintaining positive, constructive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk and Control Assessment: Facilitate assessments to identify risks, implement controls, and validate the remediation of operational risk exposure.
- Root Cause Analysis: Analyse operational events to develop strategies that prevent future risks.
- Governance: Oversee the risk management presence in governance forums and track operational risk trends.
- Risk Reporting: Prepare and present detailed risk reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior management.
- Trend Analysis: Identify operational risk trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of risk transparency and accountability, driving continuous improvement.
- Risk-Aware Culture: Promote a risk-aware culture across the organization,
ensuring constructive collaboration.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards for risk management.
Experience Required:
- 7+ years of experience in operational risk management, enterprise risk management, or related fields.
- Recent experience in the investment management industry.
- Experience facilitating risk assessments, both top-down and bottom-up, focusing on emerging risks.
- Strong understanding of ICARA, ICAAP, IRAP.
- Familiarity with Basel, COSO, ERM, and related risk assessment tools and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Professional certifications (e.g.,
Operational Risk Manager certificate from PRMIA or similar, CFA, FRM) a plus.
