People Advisor - maternity leave fixed term contract

Location: Flexible - able to travel within our operating region

Salary: £28,728 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Are you looking for your next step on the HR career ladder? Look no further, we want you to join us as a People Advisor. You’ll be supporting our Employee Relations Partners with employee relations casework and coaching leaders to carry out people related practices where appropriate.







The Employee Relations Team forms part of the wider people team supporting the business with all people related matters.

This role is being offered as a fixed term contract for a minimum of 9 months.

What you’ll be doing

You will be working alongside an experienced ER Partner supporting our leaders across multi-site operations, providing first level Employee Relations advice and guidance to business leaders.

You’ll provide guidance, coaching and support to all leaders in respect of first-line employee relations matters including disciplinaries, performance management and grievances. You’ll manage casework on our system (that’s Service Now) and escalate where appropriate within your team or to our dedicated hubs.

We are a registered restorative organisation, awarded by the Restorative Justice Council so you’ll actively promote restorative practice as an alternative resolution mechanism where appropriate and preferable. We also like to do things a little differently as a result of this,





and we encourage our leaders to take ownership of their employee relations cases where they can.

About you

You’ll already have some experience working in a HR function, most likely as an administrator or officer looking for that next step in your career. Our preference is for you to be CIPD L3.

You’ll have some knowledge of employment law and will be confident in your knowledge of processes and procedures to support our leaders.

As a People Advisor, you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workload and conflicting priorities. You’ll work autonomously, managing your own caseload and case work, effectively managing your priorities to meet the needs of the business.

We work as a team,





so you’ll be confident in escalating cases where appropriate and will be willing and eager to grow your expertise through coaching from our ER Partners.

Occasional travel may be required within our area of operation so a driving licence and use of car for business purposes is essential.

Our operating region covers Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
