Purpose of Role: The Software Engineering Manager will have line management responsibilities for a small technical team, while contributing to the development process. This role focuses on guiding developers, supporting feature development and fixes, and managing day-to-day operations to ensure the team delivers high-quality,
scalable solutions that align with business objectives.
What Were Looking For:
- 3-5 years in a technical role, with at least 1 year of proven team management experience within a development team
- Hands-on software development expertise,particularly in Python
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable business solutions
- Experience guiding developers in a technical capacity
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams
Technical Expertise Required:
- Strong Experience with Python (ideally with Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and FastAPI)
- Strong experience with MySQL
- Good understanding of messaging middleware like MQs.
- Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose
- Solid understanding of Git and version control
- Comfortable working in a Mac/Linux environment
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
- Familiarity with GCP services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, VMs, Load Balancers, and Cloud Logging
- Awareness of security practices,
auditing, and compliance standards in financial environments
- Kubernetes knowledge is a bonus but not required
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab
- Proficiency in one additional programming language such as C++/Java/C#
