Infrastructure Project Manager
Please note this is a part time contract role 2 days a week onsite based in Wokingham

Job Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution,
and completion of network and firewall-related projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of network setup, firewall configurations, and network monitoring tools. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security teams, to ensure successful implementation of infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & Execution :
Lead the design, planning, and implementation of network infrastructure projects.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Ensure alignment with business goals and IT strategies.
Firewall Management & Network Security :
Collaborate with security teams to define firewall requirements and oversee configurations.
Ensure firewalls are implemented to secure the network from internal and external threats.
Regularly review firewall rules and policies to ensure compliance with security standards.
Network Setup & Configuration :
Coordinate the setup and configuration of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
Work with network engineers to ensure smooth deployment of network solutions.
Ensure high availability, redundancy, and optimal performance of network infrastructure.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting :
Implement and manage network monitoring tools to proactively identify performance issues and potential risks.
Work with the network operations team to resolve any issues related to bandwidth, latency, or connectivity.
Ensure regular network health checks and performance tuning.
Stakeholder Management :
Serve as the primary point of contact for all infrastructure-related projects.
Collaborate with internal teams,
external vendors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Report on project status, risks, and milestones to senior management.
Documentation & Reporting :
Maintain up-to-date documentation on network designs, firewall configurations, and monitoring setups.
Prepare regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and project progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Proven experience as an Infrastructure Project Manager, ideally with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Solid understanding of network infrastructure (LAN / WAN / VPN) and firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
Strong knowledge of network security best practices and firewall management.
Experience in managing and coordinating large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on timely delivery.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CCNA) are a plus.
This role at Amber Labs is a Contract position, and all employees are required to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
