Salary : Band 2.1 : Unqualified applicant’s dependent on experience : £27.582.75-£29,174.06 / Band 2.2 : Qualified applicants (with an accredited ISVA qualification) dependent on experience : 2.2 £29,174.06-£31,826.25

Please note, successful candidates are usually appointed at the bottom of the relevant band)

Hours : 18.5 hours per week (2.5 days per week)

Contract : Fixed term until 31st March 2025

About the Service

The North London Rape Crisis offers range of services to women aged 13 + who are experiencing or have experienced any form of sexual violence in their lives.







We offer a safe and non-judgmental space to women living, working, or studying across 7 of the North London boroughs.

Our expert team provides helpline support, advocacy (ISVA) support including specialised ISVAs for young women (aged 13-25).

We also provide one to one and group counselling to victims and survivors as well as short-term one to one counselling support to supportive family and friends.

It is an inclusive service which supports women and girls of all ages, disabilities, sexualities, gender identities (including non-binary), ethnicities, and religions.

The service operates from 9am to 5pm however, appointments can be arranged outside of these if required.

About the Role

The role of an Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA)





is to work within a multi-disciplinary team providing proactive crisis intervention, advocacy and practical and emotional support to women, trans women, and non-binary people (age 13+) who have experienced any form of sexual violence, recent or historic.

As a Young Women ISVA, you will support victims and survivors between the ages of 13 25 who have encountered any form of sexual violence, including child sexual abuse, recent and non-recent rape, sexual assault, trafficking and exploitation, both within and outside of the criminal justice process.

You will also ensure that survivors are aware of their rights, options, and entitlements, and support them in accessing key services such as housing, benefit agencies, therapeutic support etc.

About You







The ideal candidate will have completed accredited ISVA training or have a willingness to undertake ISVA training during their probation period and have experience of supporting young women affected by sexual violence.

You will have a clear understanding of the effects of and issues facing young women who have experienced sexual violence, as well as understanding of the UK Criminal Justice System.

You will be able to communicate with young people from a range of backgrounds and create good working relationship with service users as well as partner agencies.
