We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Buying team in London. The role will support the Buying Manager with selections and manage the Men's Shoes & Accessories collections through their complete life cycle.
The Assistant Buyer is responsible for providing collection and market based expertise to meet customer needs and relevant financial goals.
The Role
Attend buying appointments and assist the Buying Manager with selections, ensuring that the critical path and calendars are met.
Assist with the allocations of the Buying Manager’s selections to the Retail Shops and Paul Smith Website.
To accurately complete order sheets in a concise and timely manner that can be used cross-functionally.
Assist with the long-term buying strategies in close collaboration with the Buying Manager.
Work closely with the online teams to analyse and interpret data that best informs trade and seasonal buys.
Ensure that the seasonal buys are inputted into PRIMA and the relevant forward orders are raised on the system accurately and on time.
To react to customer and business trends by providing timely information to sales and production.
To organise and execute store training on relevant collections and products.
Work closely with the Buying Manager in season on OTB and opportunities across the collections to improve sales.
Provide expertise on local markets and competitor activities and demonstrate knowledge on relevant target customers and product trends.
To manage the production and distribution of Retail Shop selling aids including swatch books, look books, collection and fabric information.
To create and communicate weekly, mid-season and end of season collection reports to the Buying Manager.
Your Skills and Experience
Previous credible experience in Retail and Buying.
Advanced Microsoft Office suite knowledge including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Experience of the fashion and lifestyle market both nationally and internationally.
Very methodical,
accurate and speedy with the ability to work to set deadlines.
Up to date knowledge of fashion trends and fashion industry as a whole.
Able to identify target customer groups and apply to long term strategies.
Who you are
Highly systematic and well organised with the ability to prioritise own workload and use own initiative.
Good interpersonal and presentation skills with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A reliable, confident and outgoing individual who enjoys working with and meeting people and can adapt well diverse audiences and environments.
Flexible and approachable with the ability to work as an effective team member.
Keen interest in fashion and people with a wider interest in in culture, music, literature and the arts.
