Contract : Permanent

Salary : £23,114 - £23,893 per annum (Grade 2)

Hours : 36.66 per week

Based : Sir Robert Peacock House, Vulcan Street, Oldham, OL1 4LA

Closing Date : Sunday 20th October 2024

Interview Date : TBC.

Role Overview :

To provide technical support to the licensing team, covering the broad range of licensing functions, providing advice and guidance to applicants utilising knowledge of the licensing regime and various policies.

Key Responsibilities :

- Receive and scrutinise applications made under various pieces of licensing legislation.
- Answer queries and provide specific, tailored guidance and support to applicants,





in line with adopted policies and range of legislation.

Provide this information via email, letter, telephone and in person.

- Process applications using the licensing database and produce accurate licences to applicants where specific criteria has been met and all checks and balances are in place.
- Liaise with members of the public and other key stakeholders including but not limited to Elected Members, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service and others.
- Manage own workload and prioritise work in line with statutory timeframes laid out in licensing legislation. Be able to adapt and change direction quickly from one area of licensing to another in line with service demands and workload received.
- Carry out investigations into queries for licensing applications where required. Involving in depth knowledge on processes and policies and problem solving, using own initiative to establish problem and solution.

Key Requirements :

To succeed in this role,





you will need as a minimum :

- Experience of working in a busy administrative role working under extreme pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience of working with members of the public, and with other agencies, including a demonstratable understanding of the concept of customer care
- Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with confrontational situations face to face and over the telephone
