Salary : Grade 14, £58,344 - £62,434 per annum.

2 x 37 hours per week

Your role :

We are delighted to be recruiting to two service manager posts within the Education Department’s senior leadership team due to the promotion of current staff.

Service Manager SEND

With the support of the Service lead, you will lead the day-to-day practice within the SEND team, ensuring we are fully compliant with the Children and Families Act.







You will have a passion for keeping up to date on developments in practice and will be committed to delivering the best experience and services for our families.

Using your experience of working in a Local Authority and your strong leadership skills you will manage a very busy team to deliver a service that meets the needs of our children and families, whilst developing and supporting the team on our transformational change journey, contributing to the development and delivery of our strategic vision for education.

Service Manager Inclusion

With the support of the Service Lead, you will manage multiple teams, including the attendance, pupil inclusion, children missing from education and the ethnic minority and traveller services, leading them to deliver outstanding services that have our children and young people at the heart of all decisions.

You will be a creative and strong leader with responsibility for further transforming our alternative provision service, ensuring we have a quality and diverse offer that ensures our children continue an education that meets their needs within the borough.







You will also be the safeguarding lead for the borough, providing expert advice and guidance to our schools.

About you :

You will know that working in Children’s Services is a rewarding but very busy and sometimes challenging role. You will be a resilient leader, who can build strong working relationships with our children, families and partners, being able to communicate sometimes un-popular decisions confidently, assertively and kindly.

You will be committed to achieving positive change for children and young people and in supporting our teams to learn, develop and deliver consistently good practice.

You will apply an asset-based approach to how you work, with the ability to think quickly and creatively to help overcome challenges.

Your highly developed interpersonal skills,





alongside a passion for coproduction, will help you to meet the needs of our children and young people.
