Full job description

Respond is an integrated health service for refugees and people of all ages seeking asylum. This is an exciting role as you will be working onsite and in the community alongside the Respond team to provide healthcare for this group of patients.

This role forms a key part of the service as you will be responsible for all administrative elements of Respond. You will be required to have a level of knowledge to explain and guide your colleagues through the several complex administrative pathways we use as well as providing line management to a B4 Administration Coordinator.

You will work closely with the Service Manager and Clinical Operations Manager to progress the strategy of the service.

We are currently operationalising the service, and the post-holder will provide valuable input into forging patient pathways, creating administration procedures, and developing service targets.

We expect you to be hard working, engaged and supportive towards your colleagues. You will have to learn and practice several different administrative functions and to offer feedback and suggestions to improve the service, as well as supporting the team to do the same. The patients you will be working with will be unfamiliar with the NHS and you will be expected to provide accessible and equitable care and have a key awareness of preventing health inequalities.

There are several main duties of the role:

- Communication and patient liaison – dealing with potentially stressful situations with patients who may not speak English.

- Coordinating care – the pathways for this service may be complicated, and this will require someone organised to ensure these patients receive great quality care.
- People responsibilities – we are looking for a kind leader to provide line management and talent development to a band 4 administrator.
- Service development – as a developing service, creativity and receptiveness will be critical.
