We are looking for an experienced and technical expert Lead/ Principal Chassis Design Engineer to join our key client in Birmingham!This role would suit someone with 10 years’ + experience designing chassis’ component ideally for the Automotive Industry.Key Responsibilities:The Principal Chassis Design Engineer will be designing bespoke project designs for customers from concept to completion for the chassis department
The Principal Engineer will be driving the Design team to ensure the delivery of projects – approving designs, managing design reviews, act as the technical expert and mentor junior engineers
Designing quality components and systems relating to bodywork, lighting and seating for manufacture/ production
Liaising with internal departments and suppliers to ensure design quality and feasibility
Lead by example and make critical decisions as required. Undertake appraisals, training sessions and deal with all holiday requests etc.Key Attributes:10 years’ + practical/ hands on engineering experience designing chassis components
Creo/ Pro Engineer experience would be preferable but training will be provided – Other CAD packages such as Solidworks, CATIA, Inventor etc. will be considered
Engineering Degree or similar qualification ideal
Understanding of Engineering fundamentals essential
