As London's leading provider of affordable workspaces for artists, Bow Arts offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of community development, creative enterprise, and cultural sustainability. The role will focus on three key regeneration projects: The Royal Docks, Thamesmead, and Camden HS2, and will play a pivotal role in expanding Bow Arts' portfolio through partnerships with major stakeholders including Registered Housing Providers, developers, and local authorities.

Purpose of the Role:

The Head of Partnerships and Places will drive strategic partnerships and place-based initiatives that foster sustainable cultural infrastructure, economic growth, and social inclusion. By collaborating with stakeholders across multiple sectors, the postholder will help ensure access to Bow Arts services, promote local enterprise, and contribute to community development. This is a high-impact role aimed at leveraging Bow Arts' expertise in Creative Placemaking to enhance London's cultural landscape and improve community cohesion.

About Bow Arts:

Bow Arts, established 30 years ago, is at the forefront of Creative Placemaking in London, with 18 sites across 10 boroughs providing around 1,000 affordable workspaces for early-career artists. As a charity, Bow Arts reinvests 100% of its revenue into expanding opportunities for local communities, promoting the arts, and supporting creative professionals. In addition to its work with artists, Bow Arts partners with over 90 schools, benefiting 10,000+ pupils each year through educational programs.

Bow Arts is structured into five key departments:

- Live and Work Space - managing affordable studios and living spaces.
- Learning Department - offering training and employment opportunities for artists.
- Arts and Events Team - supporting emerging talent through exhibitions and awards.
- Partnerships and Places - focusing on Creative Placemaking and community partnerships.
- Core Services - handling HR, governance, and finance.

Ideal Candidate:

- Experienced in strategic partnerships and community development, ideally within cultural or creative sectors.
- Strong in project management and collaborative working, with an ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

- Skilled in negotiating partnership agreements and ensuring successful outcomes for both Bow Arts and its partners.
- Committed to cultural sustainability and social inclusion, with a deep understanding of London's cultural landscape.
- Demonstrates financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, reporting, and delivering high-quality management information.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead on strategic partnership development with housing providers, local authorities, developers, and businesses.
- Oversee place-based projects that enhance community well-being and support local enterprise.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholder engagement, fostering collaboration and representing Bow Arts at key public events and meetings.

- Contribute to business planning and manage the Partnerships and Places trustee sub-committee.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, set KPIs, and deliver reports to the Senior Team and Board.
- Ensure compliance with Bow Arts' policies and relevant statutory regulations.

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of commercial property and facilities management.
- Experience with tendering and grant applications.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety Legislation.
- Background in enterprise development, particularly within the food and beverage sector.
- This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cultural regeneration in London, working with key partners to drive transformative change and support the arts.
