Key Responsibilities of the successful Senior Cost Manager:
- Lead quantity surveying and cost consultancy tasks from pre- to post-contract stages.
- Develop cost estimates and detailed cost plans.
- Manage tender processes, including reviewing and analysing returns, and advising clients on procurement strategies.
- Prepare financial reports, attend project meetings, and monitor budgets to ensure alignment from design through to completion.
- Oversee post-contract responsibilities, including handling variations and negotiating final settlements.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships.
- Manage and mentor junior team members to ensure the successful delivery of cost management services.
Key Qualifications the successful Senior Cost Manager should have:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in quantity surveying or related field.
- MRICS accredited.
- Proven experience working on high-value, complex projects within a consultancy environment.
- Experience in mixed-use, commercial, workplace, or retail sectors is desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD, and CostX.
