Managing Legal Counsel - 8 + PQE Equity Capital Markets & M&ALondon; £140,000 + excellent reward package If you are a lawyer and have specialised in Equity Capital Markets, then this position reporting to the European Head of Legal within an Investment Bank, could be an ideal career move. This role will see you take responsibility as the senior relationship manager for the Legal Division in Europe for the Bank's Capital Markets and M&A; Businesses as well as other Global Investment Banking business.
You will be able to use your expert knowledge and skills to provide creative legal advice as well as using your regulatory knowledge to support on broader strategic and operational goals of the Capital Markets team in the UK and Europe.
As a subject matter expert the role will have responsibility for: Enhancing the development of processes across the European Business to ensure consistency of approach Identifying risks and helping to manage those and advising the wider businesses of anticipated changes Participating in industry discussions and thought leadership on UK and European regulations and guidance to promote a Bank's perspective on interpretation of new and draft laws and align industry approaches. Skills needed to succeed in this role: Qualified lawyer with 8+ years’ post-qualification experience Proven expertise with in-depth, specialized knowledge and experience of UK and European rules and regulations impacting Capital Markets businessesExperienced working in large cross-jurisdictional teams, collaborating on cross border transactions.
High level of commitment to providing exceptional service to the European businesses and functions in a timely and innovative manner. Strong inter-personal and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and communication skills.
IT skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and other applications. Highly motivated, pro-active and efficient team player who contributes to the continuous improvement . French/ German/ Spanish language may be beneficial but not essential.
