UE06: £33,882.00 - £39,105.00 Per Annum.
CMVM / Human Genetics Unit.
Fixed Term Contract - Temporary.
Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.
The Opportunity:
The Liver Growth & Cancer Lab (led by Dr Luke Boulter) are seeking a Research Assistant. The postholder will support ongoing work in the group understanding the role of inflammation in polycystic liver disease, led by Dr Scott Waddell and will use a range of experimental techniques to answer scientific questions.
Other duties will include contribution to other related projects within the group when necessary, as well as general lab development and maintenance.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Perform, assist with and lead experiments generating high quality, reproducible data.
- Have high levels of current experimental and technical knowledge in cell and molecular biology
- Assist with additional ongoing research projects within the group and flexibly support where required
- Demonstrate independence and decision-making skills to drive projects forward, with input from line manager/supervisors when necessary
- General lab maintenance and organisation, including health & safety records and risk assessments.
- Contribute to research presentations and publications
